| Investment Strategy |
The mission statement of B-29 Investments is to provide equity capital to oil and gas companies, real estate entities, and related B-29 affiliate companies to facilitate the creation of shareholder wealth. Since B-29’s inception in 1997, the entity has deployed capital in both the upstream and midstream sectors of the energy chain. In the real estate realm, B-29 has developed as well as managed properties for affiliate and third-party companies throughout the north Texas region.
As part of this investment strategy, B-29 Investments provides management teams with strategic advice to enhance daily operations and, hence, to eventually obtain lower cost of capital financing through close relationships with commercial banking institutions. The close working relationship between management teams and B-29 representatives is a hallmark of the firm’s values and principles.
Unlike traditional private equity firms, B-29 Investments does not solicit funding from third-parties such as pension funds, high net worth individuals and non-profit organizations. As a result, B-29 Investments is able to focus on a longer-term investment horizon instead of the time limitations imposed by a traditional private equity fund. This quality enables B-29 Investments to respond more appropriately to changing industry conditions, especially given the inherent volatility within the energy and real estate landscapes.
Currently, B-29 Investments is primarily focused on pursuing organic growth initiatives within its current stable of portfolio companies. However, from time to time, B-29 Investments will consider bolt-on acquisitions which will complement the existing operations of portfolio companies. In such a case, B-29 Investments would seek out opportunities with strong management teams interested in a continuing role, and in certain instances, a continuing equity stake in the company after the acquisition.
