Mr. Schmitz has served as the President of B-29 Investments since he and his brother Steve Schmitz originally founded the Texas limited partnership. Currently, John is serving as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Peak Oilfield Services, LLC, a company that provides water management, land farming, and accommodation services to operators in the Barnett and Woodford Shale plays. In addition, Mr. Schmitz is the President of HEP Oil Company, an exploration and production company that owns interests in approximately 1,500 producing wells throughout nine states. Lastly, Mr. Schmitz is a Board member for Allied Production Services, Inc., a process and storage equipment manufacturer for oil and gas producers serving the unconventional resource plays in the lower United States.
Prior to his current involvement at Peak, HEP, and Allied, Mr. Schmitz served as the North Texas Division Manager for Complete Production Services (NYSE: CPX), a publicly traded oilfield service company with a market capitalization of approximately $1.95 billion. In 1983, John founded Brammer Supply and spent the next 20 years growing the company, both organically and through acquisitions, into BSI, an integrated wellsite service provider with over 16 locations in North and East Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. BSI was acquired by Complete Energy Services (later Complete Production Services) in November 2003 and now represents the company’s North Texas division. John also served as the President of Cimmarron Gathering, LP, a midstream company that focused on natural gas and crude oil gathering. Cimmarron also owned and operated approximately 4,000 miles of pipeline located principally in central and south-central Oklahoma as well as in the northern portion of the Fort Worth Basin. Cimmarron was sold to Copano energy in May 2007.
Mr. Schmitz has served as the Vice President of B-29 Investments since he and his brother John Schmitz originally founded the Texas limited partnership. Currently, Steve’s primary focus is to manage the real estate development companies, the brokerage and property management teams, and the property tax and appraisal functions under the B-29 umbrella. Most recently, Steve has been the acting President for BJ Contractors, LLC, a general contractor firm that focuses on industrial and commercial projects in the North Texas area. Lastly, Steve serves on the Board of Directors for Allied Production Services, Inc. and Peak Oilfield Services, LLC. Steve holds a Bachelors of Science degree from Texas A&M University in Political Science.
Mr. Palma has served as the Chief Financial Officer for B-29 Investments since September 2006. Most recently, Kevin has devoted his efforts to the Chief Financial Officer duties for Peak Oilfield Services. Prior to serving in these capacities, Kevin spent two years attending the Harvard Business School, where he earned a Masters in Business Administration. Before attending graduate school, Kevin spent three years in the energy investment banking group at Raymond James and Associates in Dallas. His experience includes merger and acquisition advisory, public equity and debt offerings, and private placements for small and middle capitalization oil and gas firms. Kevin holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in public accountancy from the University of Texas at Austin and is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas.
Ms. Flanagan has served as the Controller for B-29 Investments since March 2007. Most recently, Angela devoted many months to building the accounting structure at both Peak Oilfield Services and BJ Contractors, each of which are entities within the B-29 portfolio. Prior to B-29, Angela served as Accounting Officer at GNB Financial Bank, now known as Prosperity Bank. Angela holds an Associates of Science from North Central Texas College and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from The University of North Texas.
Ms. Pentecost has served as Human Resources Manager for B-29 Investments since September 2007. Most recently, Kim has been instrumental in starting TrendStaff LLC, a captive leasing organization specifically for employees within B-29 portfolio companies. Kim spent two years in Human Resources for Beal Bank, and seven years as Human Resources Manager at McKinney Aerospace. Kim holds a PHR, Professional in Human Resources Designation.
